eBay trawling

Searching for the word "lesbian" on eBay is both informational and entertaining. What does our society want to sell think of lesbianism?

-A charm seller sells her lesbian friend. Who decided this was a good idea? Does her friend actually know she's doing this? And who thought twenty bucks was a complimentary opening bid?

-A gay/lesbian love spell and amulet. I actually thought this was sort of cool. The information section is long, italicized, and repeatiously-delicious.

-A Grow a Girlfriend kit. It says it's for lesbians, but, uh, not sure I'm feeling it here.

-The book Lesbian Nuns: Breaking the Silence. I own this book. Seriously. It rocks hardcore.

-And then there are just the ever fabulous "lesbian sleeze" novels of the 1960s. Consider the popular titles (and cover art of) Warped Women, The Price was Perversity, and Female Convict.

I have a collection of lesbian pulp fiction novel covers that a friend put together in handmade display boxes...at total of perhaps 16 covers with titles like "Satan was a Man."

Friends are cool.

Friends are very cool. *is envious*

I bought my girlfriend the fabulous Queer Pulp: Perverted Passions from the Golden Age of the Paperback for her birthday two years back. It's a good read, and there are plenty of nice pics.
